At the 2015 North American International Auto Show, the Buick Avenir was unveiled as a concept car. It was designed to give a prototypical look at the future of the brand’s longstanding commitment to luxury and sophistication. “Avenir,” after all, is French for “future.”
Fast forward to 2018, when that elegance is now out of the imagination and onto the road.
But instead of designating the Avenir as its own model, Buick has used the name to brand a luxury trim level for the 2018 Enclave and LaCrosse. Here’s what you can expect from the Avenir trim:

2018 Buick Enclave Avenir
The difference between the Avenir and a traditional Enclave will be evident as soon as the upgraded trim turns your way. Its presence is announced by a three-dimensional Black Ice grille, 20-inch pearl nickel wheels, and Evonik Acrylite LED lighting.
Inside, a chestnut and ebony color scheme welcomes you into an interior adorned with heated seats, dual moonroofs, an 8-inch dashboard display, a 360-degree surround vision camera, and more.
Performance-wise, the Enclave Avenir is equipped with a 3.6L V6 engine and 9-speed transmission with stop/start technology. The 302 horsepower and intelligent all-wheel drive (AWD) system allow for up to 5,000 pounds of towing capacity.

2018 Buick LaCrosse Avenir
The Buick LaCrosse Avenir shares many of the defining exterior features of the Enclave Avenir, including the distinguished grille and options for pearl nickel or Midnight Silver aluminum wheels along with Avenir badging.
The chestnut interior is complemented nicely by a Bose Centerpoint Surround Sound audio system, panoramic moonroof, and wireless charging.
In terms of performance, the LaCrosse Avenir rips around at 310 horsepower courtesy of the 3.6L V6 engine and 9-speed transmission, similarly found in the Enclave.
